Bernie's Information

I am an Obstetrician-Gynecologist and have always loved math and science. Finding solutions to problems is so satisfying and rewarding. To me, the issues surrounding heating of the planet are big science problems requiring big solutions. This sometimes felt like an overwhelming, unachievable obstacle. In April 2024, I attended a regenerative soil conference and realized there is a path to mitigating climate change. Using healthy soil and keeping water in the ground is the Best Climate Fix You’ve Never Heard Of— and it’s scalable, as shown in the movie “Common Ground”.  I have 2 children and feel a huge responsibility to pass on a healthy planet to them. I look forward to my involvement in Soil Smart-Soil Wise helping me do my part.
